Array Themes Acquired by WP Engine | AWESEM

WP Engine recently announced they have acquired Array Themes and Atomic Blocks, both founded by Mike McAlister, who now joins WP Engine as an employee. Also joining WP Engine is John Parris, another Array Themes contributor.

Earlier this year WP Engine also acquired StudioPress and this latest acquisition makes it clear they’re looking to increase their theme library, the contents of which mostly focus around the popular Genesis theme framework.

In a post to announce the acquisition, WP Engine had the following to say:

Array is trusted by brands such as Dropbox and TED, and for nearly a decade, its theme collection has been used by thousands of designers, photographers, writers, and a wide variety of creative professionals for beautiful, out-of-the-box themes that combine a sophisticated design look with robust functionality in an engaging layout.

More recently, Array’s Atomic Blocks library has emerged as a go-to source for creative, easy-to-use Gutenberg blocks that leverage the new WordPress editor. Atomic Blocks is the most popular and most downloaded library of beautiful, responsive, and customisable blocks for Gutenberg. It allows users to add great-looking elements to their web pages at significantly reduced turnaround times that convert at higher rates, all without touching a line of code.

As WP Engine grow their services and capabilities, we’re excited to see what the future has in store for them in 2019 and how these new acquisitions will help the company evolve their existing services and potentially offer new products to their ever-expanding customer base.
