Knowledge share is at the heart of The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). Like many long standing institutions that pre-date the digital revolution, LSHTM had an organic approach to the blogosphere with a lot of information being disseminated in lots of different ways. The knowledge share was great but the access to this form of communication was not universal or consistent. LSHTM asked us to design & build two WordPress themes. One for the student body and one for the research centres. The key was a user friendly CMS that could be controlled centrally while also insuring the LSHTM brand was being used consistently.
What we did
We met their objectives by creating two appropriate template themes and then setting these up in two multi-site installations. This way an element of control for things like software updates and generic changes could happen at the centre while allowing editorial changes to happen by the various students and research centres. The project was an instant success and new blogs are being created all the time. Watch this space for our next project with LSHTM coming soon!
