Development Begins on WordPress 4.7

It seems like only yesterday we were celebrating the release of WordPress 4.6 and spent time getting to grips with the new features this latest version offers. However, as you know the world of WordPress is a fast-moving one so WordPress 4.7 started development a week or so ago. It’s currently due to be released in the first week of December, with the first beta planned for the end of October.

As always, WordPress 4.7 will be a collaborative project and WordPress users are urged to join in and get involved with WordPress core development if they want to take part. As it says in the WordPress 4.7 Development Cycle post:

‘To get involved in WordPress core development, head on over to Trac and pick a 4.7 ticket. Need help? Check out the Core Contributor Handbook. Get your patches done and submitted as soon as possible, then drum up people to test the patches and leave feedback on the ticket. Patches for enhancements won’t be committed after the posted dates, so that we can all focus on squashing bugs and hopefully deliver the most bug-free WordPress to date. Wish us luck!’

Well, all of us at AWESEM are wishing you luck and can’t wait to find out more about WordPress 4.7 and the new features we can start getting exciting about!
