WordCamp for Publishers Available to Watch on YouTube
Last month’s WordCamp for Publishers was the first of its kind and may serve as the beginning of a new wave of WordCamps: those aimed at a specific industry. The focus this time was, of course, on publishing and WordPress, and the event was so popular that next year’s successor is already being planned.
With a schedule full of panels and workshops that covered every inch of how WordPress can be used to the benefit of publishers, plenty of international members of the community were disappointed not to be in attendance. However, a full suite of videos recorded at the event have been uploaded to YouTube in a handy playlist. Events shared include managing large networks of sites, navigating the censored web, and the opening and closing remarks from both days of the conference.
Is this the start of an interesting new direction for WordCamps? After the success of this year’s WordCamp for Publishers there are already plenty of discussions online about the need for more niche WordCamps for different industries all over the globe, and with platforms like YouTube or streaming options allowing panels and speeches to be shared almost instantly, WordPress events can become more global than ever.
